Today I want to talk about the word surrender. What does it mean exactly, and why is it so important?

Surrender is the key component to manifesting abundance.  

In order for us to attract all the magical things we want in our lives, we have to surrender to the way it’s going to happen.

When we stop trying to force things to happen, we allow things to happen, and it is in this energy that things flow, and blessings drop into our reality.

Surrender is a word that gets thrown around a lot lately, and I just want to clarify exactly what it is.

Surrender means letting go and detaching ourselves from an outcome.  

This is a lesson I have been learning over and over again ever since the moment I found out I was pregnant. Pregnancy has forced me to surrender more than any other experience in my lifetime.  I had to relinquish control from the beginning, and allow this process to unfold on its own timeline. I couldn’t interfere no matter how much I may have wanted to, and the same goes for birth, and for motherhood.

So often when we work towards a goal, or a vision, or a dream, our mind attaches to exactly the way the process should look, how long it should take, and exactly how it should unfold.  But the reality is, things don’t work that way.

We are not always in control, and we have to get comfortable in that space. A big reason that a lot of people get disappointed and discouraged when they don’t reach a goal is that they have attached their worth to the outcome.  They forget about the process and forget to acknowledge how far they’ve come.

One of the main challenges in making a big change in your life is the uncertainty that comes with taking a leap of faith.  The fear of this uncertainty and lack of control stops many people from making changes in their life that they need to make.  We have to try to get comfortable in that space of unknowing.

Trust that the universe has your back and that everything is unfolding as it should. we must accept what is, and surrender to what will be. Your desires might change, or the outcome might look different than what you originally thought it would look like or what you wanted it to look like.  But trust that it is all happening as it’s supposed to and for your highest good.

The universe makes so much bigger and better plans for us than we could ever make for ourselves, so trust that everything is unfolding as it should.  Hold on tight to your dreams, keep taking steps forward, and never give up.

Go after your dreams fearlessly, and be grateful for every little thing on the way.
